Make-Up Policy
Makeup lessons are not guaranteed; however, with 5 make-up options, we can make it happen 99.9% of the time.
We all know that life happens! Occasional unexpected events for instructors and students are likely to arise such as family emergencies, illness, medical appointments, transportation issues, inclement weather, summer camps, vacation, sports schedules sports games, opportunities to spend time with grandchildren & grandparents, and more. These are valid reasons to utilize the make up options below.
Make-up options
for Individual Sessions
Phone or FACETIME SESSIon
This option is for reasons such as transportation issues or mild illness, and will occur during the student’s weekly scheduled time.
Fill Another Cancelled Lesson
The studio will notify the student of a cancellation later in the week or at a later date. If there is no lesson time available the same week of the cancellation, student may attend twice a week at a later time.
Email (or screen shot) a Recording or Theory Assignment
Student emails or texts the instructor an audio recording of the current prepared lesson assignment. The instructor will listen, evaluate, and offer practice suggestions and a new practice assignment. The student sends a picture of the completed theory assignment to be evaluated. The instructor will respond with feedback.
Lesson Swap
Student swaps lessons with another student.
*Please inform Ms Sharla and give permission for your contact information to be shared with the “swap” group.
*Both students must inform the studio of the agreed-upon exchange.
Group SESSION
Student may attend a group session/ensemble when the studio schedule allows.
Group & Holiday Schedule
Students who are involved in a weekly individual session follow a 4:00PM - 5:00PM lab schedule the last week of each month, rather than the individual lesson schedule. There is no additional cost for this lab. Lab tuition is included in the monthly tuition fee. Choose either Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday for Show Time: Piano Performance & Lab (STPPL.)
All students follow a modified lab schedule for the 2 weeks leading up to recital and for lessons which occur the weeks of:

Valentine’s Day
*Spring Break
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
*Fall Break
Halloween
Thanksgiving
*Christmas
*Students who are unavailable entirely during Spring & Fall Breaks or Christmas Break please refer to the make up lesson policy.
Discontinuation of Lessons Policy
A four-week notice is required should you wish to discontinue lessons at Sharla’s Keys: Piano & More. This allows us to make necessary adjustments to our schedules and offer the opportunity to another student.
Please note that refunds will not be offered for any reason. This policy ensures that our resources and time are used efficiently and fairly for all students.

Media Policy
Videos and pictures may be posted on the studio website, posted on studio related social media, and/or used in studio publications with no names attached.
The studio follows online safety rules.
